A Three day National Level Workshop on Simulation of Renewable Energy &Sustainable Technologies (SREST-2016) for Make in India (5th, 6thand 7th February 2016 ) Organized by Department of Electrical Engineering Make in India was launched by the Union Government with much fanfare last year with a tangible objective of increasing the manufacturing growth from 12% to 14% per annum, taking its contribution to the country’s GDP from the present 16% to 25% and creating 100 million additional jobs by 2022. The call on “Make in India” has its roots in the manufacturing competitiveness particularly in energy security of the nation. It is in this context; this workshop is proposed to impart knowledge in Renewable energy & Sustainable technology market which primarily include Green Manufacturing Technologies, Design & Simulation, Case study analysis, Green buildings and Hybrid systems. The programme also provides an opportunity to the entrepreneurs to explore different avenues for start-ups and refine their ideas.
